Management and operations have been structured to support an end-to-end hospitality style of aviation. Red Sea Global appointed daa International to manage and operate the airport, and daa International states its story at the airport began in 2020, with a contract signed in 2022 to operate the new airport at The Red Sea Development Project. Since 2020, daa International has supported the site from design validation and operational readiness to full airport management and operations. Its scope includes airfield and terminal operations, aviation services, facilities management, commercial activities, and corporate and financial services. Once fully operational, the airport is expected to serve up to one million passengers annually, a scale that frames how the aviation gateway is intended to underpin hotel demand over time.

Private Aviation as a Luxury Arrival Strategy

Private aviation is being formalized as a core part of the arrival experience, not an add-on. Jetex, described as a global leader in premium aviation services, has been granted a license by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to operate at RSI. The licensed services include ground handling, aircraft fueling, VIP terminal services, and flight support at the airport. Travel And Tour World also describes RSI as a state-of-the-art hub for international travelers heading to luxury destinations including The Red Sea and AMAALA, and says that since beginning operations in September 2023, the airport has been an essential gateway for domestic and international flights. For high-net-worth travelers, those service layers can reduce friction at arrival and departure, supporting higher-yield resort positioning.

Network growth and sustainability positioning are also being used to support premium destination access. Travel And Tour World reports that the airport has outlined a roadmap to expand to 60 weekly flights by 2030, anticipating rising demand as The Red Sea destination matures. The same report states that RSI’s SAF supply blends sustainable fuel with conventional Jet A1 to reduce direct carbon emissions by up to 35 per cent per flight, placing sustainability messaging alongside luxury. The airport also secured multiple awards for sustainability and safety performance at the Aviation Business Middle East Awards, which the publication frames as benchmarking against regional and international peers. Together, the flight roadmap, SAF claims, and awards narrative signal an operational approach meant to protect both throughput and brand equity as new resorts open.

Location and destination linkage are central to why the airport can influence resort performance.
